Rathlin West Light, Co. Antrim

Usually open between April and mid-September, not only is the Rathlin West Light Seabird Centre home to Northern Ireland’s largest seabird colony, it’s unique as Ireland’s only ‘upside down’ lighthouse!

Just six miles off County Antrim’s north coast, Rathlin Island is a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. On the ferry before you step ashore, look out for gannets, gulls and dolphins. The ferry funs regularly but make sure to book in advance. The Seabird Centre is operated by RSPB NI, a conservation charity and all entrance fees, donations, and other income support the running of the site and the conservations and engagement work on Rathlin.
