Begin at Blacksod Lighthouse, where Maureen Sweeney’s weather observation in June 1944 led Eisenhower to delay D-Day by 24 hours. Sail to the abandoned villages of the Inishkea Islands, where grey seals breed on white sand beaches. Drive the surf coast through Easkey and Downpatrick Head, walk among the world’s oldest known field systems at Ceide Fields, then finish on Achill Island, where deserted famine villages sit above some of Europe’s finest beaches.
